Meet Scott and Ellis

G.R. "Scott" Cundiff

Scott grew up listening to Southern Gospel Music.  Sunday mornings, the TV was tuned to the "Gospel Singing Jubilee" and "Singin' Time in Dixie."  As a teen he and some friends formed a gospel quartet that sang in area churches.  Then, in college he sang with a group.   In college, he was on the staff of what is now WONU radio, although in those early days it was a very low powered college campus radio station.  However, he was called to preach and everything else had to take a back seat to that.

Scott has served as pastor of the Church of the Nazarene in Alvin, Texas since 1999 and is currently a volunteer at KJIC radio.  He announces music overnights and on Sunday afternoons.

Ellis Manley

Ellis grew up in an Assembly of God parsonage and is a lifetime lover of Southern Gospel Music.  He has been a radio DJ for over 20 years and is aquainted with many gospel artists.

Ellis has sung bass with various local gospel groups and currently handles the sound at his local church.  He is the morning DJ at KJIC radio and also serves as music director.

His nickname is "the old gospel music man" and, as is obvious on CGSS, he is a walking encyclopedia of southern gospel music.
